About Us
Our founders
The Jordan Fund was founded by John & Kelly Olerud in 2003. The fund’s mission is to provide support to children with special needs and their families.
Their daughter, Jordan, was born with a rare chromosome disorder in August 2000.
John & Kelly have experienced first hand what an enormous task it is to care for a child with special needs, and what a huge burden it can place on families. John & Kelly are so grateful to the Lord for giving them a firm foundation of family, friends and the financial means to help care for Jordan. Due to that, the following verses became an inspiration for the formation of the fund:
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
As a result, John & Kelly want to reach out to help families of children with special needs. They decided to act on this wish by creating the Jordan Fund.
